Missed lessons and make-up lessons
We understand that sometimes students can’t attend a scheduled lesson due to illness, family commitments, or other unavoidable reasons. Below is how we handle missed lessons and make-ups across our different lesson types.
One-to-One Lessons
If you’re unable to attend a lesson, please let us know in advance - it’s sometimes possible to arrange a make-up if another student cancels on a different date. In these cases, we’ll get in touch to offer that time.
Please note that make-ups can’t be guaranteed, as teacher schedules and room bookings are planned in advance
We’re not able to offer credits or refunds for missed lessons, as the teacher and room are reserved for you and can’t usually be used in another way.
Group Lessons
For group lessons (for example, Musicianship, Music Club, Voyagers, or other small group sessions), lessons run on fixed dates as shown in your schedule.
Because these sessions rely on all participants being present, we’re not able to offer individual make-up lessons, credits or refunds if a student misses a class.
Occasionally, additional sessions may be scheduled during the year when possible, which will be available to all students enrolled in the group.
Why We Can’t Offer Credits or Refunds
Our teachers and venues are booked in advance for the full term. Even when a student can’t attend, those costs remain the same. Offering credits or refunds would mean increasing lesson prices for everyone - instead, we keep fees consistent and offer make-ups only when another space becomes available.
Need to Miss a Lesson?
If you know you’ll be unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. This helps us plan effectively and may allow us to offer your time to another student who has missed a lesson.
